Climate Catalyst Program
The Climate Catalyst Fund was created in statute in June of 2020 and received its first capitalization via the state budget in September of 2021. Designed to be a general-purpose financing vehicle for the state’s critical climate and sustainability infrastructure, the Fund’s focus will expand over time based on capital sources and strategic imperatives.
Reflecting the urgent need to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires, and the simultaneous opportunity to motivate regional economic development around climate solutions, the Climate Catalyst Fund’s initial focus will be on infrastructure that advances forest biomass management and utilization. If you are interested in pursuing projects along these lines, please submit your summary project information in the intake form below.
IBank staff is actively developing criteria, priorities and guidelines for the selection and underwriting of projects under the Climate Catalyst Fund, and anticipates IBank Board consideration of these foundational documents in the December 2021-January 2022 timeframe. Parties should be aware that the Climate Catalyst Fund will not engage in active investment diligence until the IBank Board formally approves these policies and procedures. The information collected through this initial intake process will help IBank staff optimally engage the market when authorized to do so by the IBank Board.
