- I-Bank Executive Director Stan Hazelroth has traveled to Washington D. C. numerous times in the past year to appear on panels and meet with Federal officials and other interested parties regarding the creation of a new National Infrastructure Bank. Modeled after the I-Bank, the National Infrastructure Bank could provide financing or loan guaranties to regional infrastructure projects of national significance. During Mr. Hazelroth’s latest trip, he testified at a hearing on Infrastructure Banks at the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee--Subcommittee on Select Revenue Measures. The hearing focused on proposals to create infrastructure banks, financing mechanisms that may increase or decrease tax revenues, and impacts on the Federal debt. Lessons from Abroad… And Our Own Shores.’ This event, co-sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Let’s Rebuild America initiative and the National Chamber Foundation, was the second of a five-part event series examining the development of a national infrastructure bank.
